The very idea that a child that is almost born into the world could still have their life taken from them is just anathema to me, and I can't conscious about a party that supports that.
I opposed No Child Left Behind, I opposed the Medicare prescription drug bill, I opposed the Wall Street bailout. What the American people are starting to see is that Republican, Republicans on Capitol Hill get it and the Democrats, from the White House to Capitol Hill, just don't get it.
I just think to be in that place, to be surrounded as I will and for my brief moment in the inauguration ceremony by my wife and by my children and my daughter-in-law, with family looking on from behind us in the platform and many Hoosiers coming to be out in the crowds, I expect - it's again, it will be very, very humbling.

Our family has been honored to serve our state and nation. Like many American families, we have been fortunate and blessed to raise three wonderful children and put them through college while doing work that we love.

There are so many families around the country that can't have children. We can improve options so families can have children, can adopt more readily those children.
