I see NATO as a good thing to have - I look at the Ukraine situation and I say, so Ukraine is a country that affects us far less than it affects other countries in NATO, and yet we are doing all of the lifting, they're not doing anything.
We have a big portion of this country that's fed up. We have a president Barack Obama that doesn't have a clue. He doesn't know what's going on. And the people of this country are angry. They're not angry people, but they're angry now.
What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers - we have a lot of these people, probably 2 million, it could even be 3 million. We are getting them out of our country, or we're going to incarcerate. But we're getting them out of our country. They're here illegally.

It would be much easier for me to be so tough - the tougher I am on Russia, the better. But you know what? I want to do the right thing for the American people. And to be honest, secondarily, I want to do the right thing for the world. If Russia and the United States actually got together and got along - and don't forget, we're a very powerful nuclear country and so are they. There's no up-side.
We are killing, absolutely killing our energy business in this country. Now I'm all for alternative forms of energy, including wind, including solar, et cetera, but we need much more than wind and solar. You look at our miners, Hillary Clinton wants to put all the miners out of business. There is a thing called clean coal. Coal will last for 1,000 years in this country. Now we have natural gas and so many other things because of technology. We have unbelievable, we have found over the last seven years, we have found tremendous wealth under our feet. So good.
Energy is under siege by the Obama administration, under absolute siege. The EPA, the Environmental Protection Agency, is killing these energy companies, and foreign companies are now coming in and buying our, buying so many of our different plants and then re-jiggering the plants so that they can take care of their oil. We are killing, absolutely killing our energy business in this country.
My contract with the American voter begins with a plan to end government corruption and to take our country back from the special interests. I want the entire corrupt Washington establishment to hear and heed the words. We're going to drain the swamp of corruption in Washington, D.C.

According to data provided by the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration, and the national interest, between 9/11 and the end of 2014, at least 380 foreign-born individuals were convicted in terror cases inside the United States. Our country is a mess! We don`t even know what to look for anymore, folks.
As soon as I enter office, I am going to ask the Department of State, which has been brutalized by Hillary Clinton to begin a comprehensive review of foreign-born individuals terror cases in order to develop a list of regions and countries from which immigration must be suspended until proven and effective vetting mechanisms can be put in place.
I call it extreme vetting. And if people don`t like it - we`ve got have a country, folks, got to have a country. Countries in which immigration will be suspended would include places like Syria and Libya.
Another immigration reform involves new screening tests for all applicants that include - and this is so important, especially if you get the right people, and we will get the right people - an ideological certification to make sure that those we are admitting to our country share our values and love our people!
If people around the world believe they can just come on a temporary visa and never, ever leave - the Obama-Clinton policy, that`s what it is - then we have a completely open border, and we no longer have a country! We must send a message that visa expiration dates will be strongly enforced.
We`ve admitted 59 million immigrants to the United States between 1965 and 2015. Many of these arrivals have greatly enriched our country. So true. But we now have an obligation to them and to their children to control future immigration as we are following, if you think, previous immigration waves. We`ve had some big waves, and tremendously positive things have happened. To ensure assimilation, we want to ensure that it works. Assimilation, an important word, integration and upward mobility.
We want people to come into our country, but they have to come into our country legally and properly vetted and in a manner that serves the national interest! We`ve been living under outdated immigration rules from decades ago.
Our message to the world will be this. You cannot obtain legal status or become a citizen of the United States by illegally entering our country. That`s right. People will know that you can`t just smuggle in, hunker down, and wait to be legalized. It`s not going to work that way. Those days are over.

We have our San Bernardinos, we have had the World Trade Centre come down because of people that should not have been in our country, and now we are supposed to take 2,000. I've created over a million jobs since I have been president. The country is booming, the stock market is setting record, we have the highest employment numbers we've ever had in the history of our country. We are doing record business.
Democrats are nothing more than obstructionists. That's all they can do. That's all they seem to be good at. So they're obstructionists, so what they will do, even though it's for the good of the country, they will obstruct.
Our country was built, to a large extent, on protecting our manufacturers. If you go back to Jefferson, you go back to all of these great, great people that ran the United States properly, it was really based on a certain form of tariff and a certain form of protection. We're just the opposite now.
