Give up all ideas about yourself and simply be.
Give up the idea of being a person, that is all. You need not become what you are anyhow. There is the identity of what you are and there is the person superimposed on it. All you know is the person, the identity - which is not a person - you do not know, for you never doubted, never asked yourself the crucial question: 'Who am I?'
Unless you make tremendous efforts, you will not be convinced that effort will take you nowhere. The self is so self-confident that unless it is totally discouraged it will not give up. Mere verbal conviction is not enough. Hard facts alone can show the absolute nothingness of the self-image.
There is no second, or higher self to search for. You are the highest self, only give up the false ideas you have about your self.
The relinquishing of the lesser is the gaining of the greater. Give up all and you gain all.
Self-remembrance, awareness of 'I am' ripens him powerfully and speedily. Give up all ideas about yourself and simply be.
Sadhana is a search for what to give up. Empty yourself completely.
