Bodybuilding is a hobby. At least for me it is. I've trained since i was 12 or 13 years old. It's a hobby I just have so much fun with it. I get so much enjoyment from it. To have your job as your hobby - life don't get better than that.

I train for two reasons. Number one, I love working out, and number two, I want to win. You can't win if you don't train to the best of your ability.

I don't do this to be healthy, I do this to get big muscles.

It is harder to be a lifter than a bodybuilder...lifting is purely masculine whereas bodybuilding entails feminine traits. Bodybuilding reminds me of a woman getting ready to go somewhere. Can you tell me that greasing your body up and posing in front of a mirror is masculine? A bodybuilder puts strength secondary to his physique, whereas the lifter puts strength foremost because it is more masculine to do so.

I always go heavy and I always go to failure. Even when I tell myself I'm gonna go easy, once I get to the gym and start working, I never end up going easy. I hate leaving the floor feeling like I could have done more weight or more reps. I just love working out and going further than I ever did before.

Bodybuilding has been the tool that single-handedly taught a little black boy from the projects to use his mind to achieve success. it taught me to see things for what they can be. I had 17-inch arms; I imagined them to be 24 inches. The power of my mind allowed me to achieve what I imagined.

No man is happy without a goal, and no man can be happy without faith in his own ability to reach that goal.

Believing in myself and not to be afraid of taking any risks. I have to be better than the average person to succeed. That’s why I chose bodybuilding. If I became a world champion, if I could win admiration from my peers, I could do anything.

There is no point in being alive if you cannot do the deadlift

When someone compliments me on my physique, positive attitude, or enthusiasm, I walk on air the rest of the day.

I would never have turned pro training like an average bodybuilder. There is no substitute for intensity.

There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength. Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it's impossible to turn back.

Work harder than anyone you know, and be lucky enough to be blessed with the genetics it takes.

The success I have achieved in bodybuilding, motion pictures, and business would not have been possible without the generosity of the American people and the freedom here to pursue your dreams.

What is the point of being on this Earth if you are going to be like everyone else?
