There are so few guys who do action and do it well. Even fewer who are African-American. Even fewer who have classical-theater training. So a cat like me coming in, I'm bringing all of that to an action movie.

A woman would pitch a joke. Nothing. Then a guy would pitch it and everybody would laugh.

And I was very flattered to be called on that, of course, but I felt like if I didn't find something to be a little original, different, particular in the movie, I would just disappear.
There are a lot of guys who have terrible throwing motions-worse than mine. But they still get the ball downfield. That's all that matters.
