I'm a serious person by nature - sometimes too serious.
I do have this reputation for being a serious person.
That in these times every serious person should not in his heart have felt some difliculty with the doctrines of the incarnation, I cannot helieve. We are not as we were. When Christianity was first published, the imagination of mankind presented the relation of heaven to earth very differently from what it does now.
The serious person becomes handicapped, he creates barriers. He cannot dance, he cannot sing, he cannot celebrate. The very dimension of celebration disappears from his life. He becomes desert-like. And if you are a desert, you can go on thinking and pretending that you are religious but you are not.
When many people think of "new age" they think of crystals and purple decals and ceramic angels in people's windows and a kind of fuzzy thinking - which is abhorrent to a serious person.
I am not a serious person. I don't claim any profundity for any of my writing.
I can't tell my self that I'm a serious actor. But I'm serious person.
I'm actually a thin serious person but I play fat and funny, but only for the movies.
