I often don't go to sleep and work through the night. I can't seem to do my vocal takes if there's light outside. There's a gentleness to the night that leads me in my stride.
I casually listen to mixes, but I don't know all the names of the tunes and the producers and stuff. It's hard to keep up with.
All the songs were written on guitar and then put into the computer, where I played around with different sounds I was hearing and what was available in the software.
I've been into gear for a long time, but I never saw myself as a producer because I didn't have the patience to finish things in a professional way.
