Surely if God had meant us to do yoga, he would have put our heads behind our knees.

There is no mind to control if you realise the self. The mind having vanished, the self shines forth. In the realised man, the mind may be active or inactive, the self remains for him.

Realisation is our nature. It is nothing new to be gained. What is new cannot be eternal. Therefore there is no need for doubting if one would lose or gain the Self.

Self-realization is yoga or "oneness" with truth-the direct perception or experience of truth by the all-knowing intuitive faculty of the soul.

So there is nothing to be proud of these worldly possessions. What you are to be proud of, or to be conscious of is your spirit. Spirit is the only thing that can kindle another spirit.

Meditation is the only way you can grow. Because when you meditate, you are in silence, you are in thoughtless awareness. Then the growth of awareness takes place.

The truth is you are the pure Spirit. The second truth is that there is a all-pervading Divine power of love. This power of love does all the living work.

Freedom is when you really get your own powers which are within you.

Spirit is like a mirror where you see yourself clearly and you start changing yourself.

Every path, every street in the world is your walking meditation path.

Breathe and you dwell in the here and now, breath and you see impermanence is life.

I get up in the morning and do a seven-minute yoga workout. I know the most likely time I'm going to do something is when I first get up, and I make it short because, like you, I don't really want to do that first thing in the morning.

Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do. Play consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do.

Our feelings can be hurt, but you can take a yoga class, you can pray, you can play some basketball - you can figure out things for your hurt feelings.

I'm actually banned from the Himalayas, because I'm too good at yoga.

To create something and not to be attached to what you have created is a spiritual process.

The most fundamental and the most important aspect of the spiritual process can in no way be stopped by anybody - except yourself.

Repose is the secret of all contemplation and meditation, the secret of getting in tune with that aspect of life which is the essence of all things. When one is not accustomed to take repose, one does not know what is behind one's being.
