There is no evil, there's no bad; there's no good. These are human ideas. There's no creator, there's no creation; there's no God, there's no nirvana, there's no perfection. These are ideas.
What is evil? There is no such thing. In Buddhism we don't recognize evil and therefore we don't give it any power over us.
Innocence does not protect you from the evil designs of others.
In addition to innocence, we have to have knowledge of good and evil.
Consider that we live in a world predicated upon fear. The underlying assumption is that human beings are innately evil and must be groomed and controlled. That is the dichotomy that is set up within the human mind, good and evil.
